GUEST LECTURE

Marq Evans is available for guest lectures at universities and other institutions of higher learning. His talk, ‘Do or Die: How to Make a Documentary,’ outlines the stages of documentary filmmaking from development through distribution, using his own projects as reference. It has been well received at Emerson College, Montserrat College of Art, Clark University, Vermont College of Fine Arts, and more.

“It was an honor to have Marq visit Clark University to screen Claydream and visit my advanced documentary class. As a filmmaker who has really specialized in documentaries about creative individuals, Marq is uniquely positioned to talk to young artists about their work and prospective careers in the film industry. Marq is empathetically tuned in, both as a director and a teacher, not only to the art of filmmaking, but also to the commercial side of a changing business. Marq encouraged my students to take their time and allow their ideas to develop while always looking for new opportunities to collaborate and grow as artists.”
